Milton's Comus at Berkeley, Scene 2. In this episode of Comus the villain attempts to seduce the kidnapped Lady into joining his degenerate gang. She refuses and is ultimately rescued by her siblings aided by their tutors. To match the audience involvement customary in such masques, this performance by UCB students in 1994 is reset in UCB, and local allusions are adjusted appropriately. Comus and his cohort are now beatniks from People's Park, the Lady an undergraduate waylayed at the Park. After her rescue the Lady graduates from "Cal" with a speech from its Chancellor, drawn from Milton's pamphlet "On Education."
