Milton's Cottage at Chalfont St. Giles

Milton, like Shakespeare, loved gardens as here in the garden of his cottage in Chalfont St. Giles, with its apple trees – one of the more rural places where he lived while the plague raged in London, and he wrote about Eve's apple in Paradise Lost.
